Anna Maria Island beach restoration will take place about every 10 yrs at ten million dollars each time. WOW!

  If you never seen it done it is definitely a sight to see.  They pump in the sand from a barge about two miles out and are able to do about a city block a week. The beach will go from its current 50 ft. width to about a hundred fifty feet wide. For the shell lovers this is a great time to find sharks' teeth and maybe even some old relics like musket balls - you never know. Our beach's previous restoration was about 10 years ago .
